GFMEDC Narrows the presidential candidate pool

Fargo, ND (August 13, 2010) The Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation (GFMEDC) presidential search committee has announced the finalists for the president position.

Michael Dalby, President of One Southern Indiana, and Kevin McKinnon, Director of Business Development at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, have both been selected to continue on through the interview process.

"A very strong candidate pool made this a tough decision, but we are anxious to keep the process moving forward.   We want to have a permanent leader in place who can push forward with the initiatives set forth in our Cass Clay Economic Strategy," said Ron Robson, GFMEDC Board Chair.

In the second round of interviews, the candidates and their spouses will have an opportunity to engage with board members and community leaders.   Those interviews are expected to take place within the next few weeks.

The GFMEDC hired Jorgenson Consulting Incorporated (JCI) to lead the recruitment effort.   JCI assists non profit economic and community development organizations throughout United States.

Former president, Brian Walters, left the organization May 2010 to take a position with the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission as their executive vice president of innovation and business development.
