A few of the more recent rankings include the following: On the Fargo Moorhead Business Climate: - Forbes Magazine ranked Fargo Moorhead #4 among smaller metros for Best Places for Business and Careers, according to Forbes.com. - North Dakota was among four states sited by the 2007 State New Economy Index as making the greatest strides toward transformation to a new economy over the past five years. (March 2007)
- Fargo Moorhead was ranked #4 in the nation for most favorable metros that have the potential to attract businesses and households, reported by Economy.com. (January 2006)
- North Dakota and Minnesota both earned a ranking in the top 10 states as reported in the fifth annual "State Competitiveness Report 2005" conducted by the Suffolk University based Beacon Hill Institute. The study reported that North Dakota ranked 5th and Minnesota ranked 10th. (January 2006)
