Emerging Technology
The communities that survive and thrive in today's global economy are strategic, forward-thinking, and proactive. They take control of their futures. Fargo Moorhead is one of those communities. Our region has experienced solid growth for the past 10–15 years, and the actions we take now will ensure that this growth continues.
Like a number of other communities across the country, Fargo Moorhead recognizes the fact that globalization and the rapid pace of change in the global economy has a profound impact on local economies. Unlike most communities, we are embracing the challenges and the opportunities that come with change. This means working to improve our already strong business climate to support the global companies that call Fargo Moorhead home, as well as working to become a global destination in emerging industry sectors that will drive economic and job growth for many decades to come.
The Cass/Clay Economic Strategy was developed to build on our existing strengths, diversify into new industries, re-invent our innovative companies and enhance our business environment overall. It includes a focus on public-private partnerships in the core areas of knowledge infrastructure, entrepreneurship, air service, telecommunications and K-12 STEM education.
One of the early successes of our strategy is the Center for Biopharmaceutical Production (CBRP), a public-private partnership center of excellence that assists biopharmaceutical companies moving their products from concept to market. Led by C. Satishchandran (Satish), a former Pfizer executive, the CBRP is poised to help its partners develop and capitalize on their discoveries in a way that answers their needs while making the world a better, safer place.
Our community is taking a focused and targeted approach to creating the environment in which innovative businesses will thrive. Fargo Moorhead is helping shape the future of business in the emerging industries of smart technologies and biopharmaceuticals. We welcome you to be a part of it.
